Free Amateur Radio General Class License Course

The General Class course prepares students for the amateur radio General Class Exam. The General class is the second of three licenses types issued by the FCC. This is considered the intermediate course in the Amateur Radio Service.

First Session -Saturday February 14th

9:00 AM- 11:00 AM

The class is open to anyone who presently holds a current FCC Novice or Technician Class license and would like to upgrade to General Class.

Following classes are to be held Saturdays for the next 4 weeks on 2/21/15, 2/28/15, 3/7/15,  and 3/14/15. All classes are to be held in room 286 at Martin County EOC. 

Please note that while the Class is free, there is a $15.00 fee to sit for the exam. The class workbook is the ARRL General Class Study Guide offered at $14.00 via Martin County ARES, Inc or you may supply your own. Please note we are using the latest edition (7th) for the class. The study guide is also available via Amazon.com.

Testing session is scheduled for the Stuart Hamfest on 3/21/15 (time to be announced).
