The Martin County Amateur Radio Association (MCARA) and Martin County ARES/RACES would like to thank everyone who helped make ARRL Field Day 2026 a tremendous success. Held June 27-28 at the Martin County Fairgrounds, the annual 24-hour emergency communications exercise brought together amateur radio operators, families, and visitors from across the Treasure Coast. 

Operating under the club callsign K4ZK, with WX4MC serving as our Get On The Air (GOTA) station, our team demonstrated the capabilities of amateur radio under simulated emergency conditions while welcoming newcomers to experience the hobby firsthand.

Throughout the event, operators made more than 1,000 contacts across the United States and beyond using voice and digital modes. Visitors had the opportunity to tour the operating positions, learn about emergency communications, and even get on the air under the supervision of experienced control operators at the GOTA station.

Field Day is much more than a contest. It is an opportunity to practice emergency preparedness, test portable equipment and antennas, strengthen operating skills, and introduce the public to the many facets of amateur radio. 

This event would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers who spent countless hours planning, setting up antennas and stations, operating throughout the day and night, preparing meals, and tearing everything down after the event. Their commitment made this weekend both productive and enjoyable.
