What's Happening
SKYWARN Spotter Training


This Saturday, January 20th at 10:00 AM at the Martin County Emergency Operations Center the National Weather Service will be conducting a FREE Basic-level training class for anyone interested in becoming a Skywarn weather observer. The class will be taught by NWS Meteorologist-in-Charge (MIC) Scott Spratt.

Coming up on Saturday, February 3rd is the second in a monthly series of classes on Radio and Electronics.  Session #2 will extend our knowledge of electronic components and sharpen our soldering skills by assembling an electronic clock, using integrated circuits and seven-segment LED displays.  Sessions will include classroom instruction, and hands-on lab segments.  Reservations are not required, but space is limited.  More Info

Hurricane Irma

Amateur radio operators from Martin County Amateur Radio Association and Martin County ARES/RACES were activated and deployed to shelters and hospitals throughout the county supporting emergency communications for the duration of Irma's visit here.  Deployment began at 0800 on Saturday, September 9th, and continued until Monday afternoon.
