What's Happening

ARRL Field Day 2018

The Martin County Amateur Radio Association and Martin County ARES/RACES will team up again this year to participate in ARRL Field Day 2018 on June 23th and 24th at Sandsprit Park in Stuart.  Equipment setup and testing starts at 9 AM EDT (1300z) on Friday, June 22nd.

But the real fun begins on Saturday afternoon  at 2 PM (1800z) when the stations go On-The-Air, joining thousands of others in the largest Amateur Radio event of the year!

The event typically continues until early after noon on Sunday, mostly depending on weather.  The park is located at 3443 SE St. Lucie Blvd in the Port Salerno area of Stuart, FL.  More Info

Coming up on Saturday, July 28th is the seventh in a monthly series of classes on Radio and Electronics.  Session #7 will allow us to further develop our radio and antenna skills by assembling and configuring a portable Packet Radio station.  Sessions will include classroom instruction, and hands-on lab segments.  Reservations are not required, but space is limited.  More Info

The third annual Maker's Faire, sponsored by the Education Foundation of Martin County took place at the Pinewood Elementary School in Stuart on Tuesday, May 8th.  Martin County hams exhibited again this year.  Working with the kids was great, as always!  More Info

           2018Stuart Hamfest

The 2018 edition of the Stuart Hamfest was held on Saturday, March 17th at the Martin County Fairgrounds.  We had an absolutely perfect Florida winter day, filled with good food and many Ham Radio friends.  Our very special guest this year, Bob Allison WB1GCM, from the ARRL Lab, led a forum on Software Defined Radios (SDR).

An Icom IC-7300, and many other prizes were given away at the event.  Visit www.stuarthamfest.com to see if you are a prize winner.  If you missed the hamfest this year, next year's Stuart Hamfest is just around the corner!
